Cygnet Bay Pearls | Safari Tents | Dampier Peninsula
Safari Tents on a working Pearl Farm
Why we like it
❤️ Most farm stays have you counting sheep. This one has you counting pearls.
Cygnet Bay Pearls is Australia’s oldest pearling operation, tucked into Bardi Jawi Country on the wild edge of the Dampier Peninsula, where the tides of King Sound are some of the biggest on the planet.
You sleep in safari tents and pearlers’ shacks, wake up to the ocean, and spend your days learning how a farm can grow something this beautiful out of an oyster.
This is a working pearl farm first and an accommodation second – and that’s exactly the point.
You’re not staying at a resort dressed up with a “heritage” story; you’re staying on the actual property where four generations of one family have farmed South Sea pearls.
The restaurant, the pool, the ecotours all exist to support that, not distract from it.
Additional info
Guests can tour the working pearl farm, cruise the legendary tides of King Sound, and explore a stretch of coastline most visitors never get near.
Add an onsite restaurant and bar for buffet dinners after a big day outdoors, a pool and firepit for winding down, and a genuine sense of remoteness that no city hotel can fake.

Food and drink
The onsite restaurant and bar serves lunch and a hearty buffet dinner, so there’s no need to plan a supply-run days in advance.
Pull up a seat by the firepit afterwards with a drink from the bar, or grab a coffee at the onsite cafe before a morning of ecotours.
Given the remoteness, this is very much your base for meals – plan around it rather than around a nearby township.
