Titirangi and The Neighbourhood:

A suburb of Auckland, Titirangi lies to the west of the city at the base of the Waitakere Ranges. The houses and village have been built within the native bush creating a sub-tropical oasis. The Waitakare region is popular for bush walks, black sand beaches, wineries and native New Zealand birds. Watch out for Tuis, Fantails and Kereru.

Getting There:

Driving time to the tiny house is 25 minutes from Auckland city and 26 minutes from the aiport (in good traffic). You can also catch public transport to/from Titirangi. Here’s the Journey Planner: https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/journey-planner/

The Village:

Titirangi is home to artists, sculptures, musicians (Neil Finn wrote ‘I hope I never’ while living there), jewellery-designers, yoga tutors and residents who love the alternative ‘back to nature’ feeling (source). The village is only a five minute walk from the tiny house. You’ll find boutique shops, cafes, and Lopdell House with a theatre and a small cinema.

FYI: Don’t miss Titirangi’s Village Market for local arts and crafts, held on the last Sunday of every month.

For things to do in Auckland the Explorer double-decker bus is a fun way to get around some of the scenic sights. You can buy a pass for one or two days and includes free ferry. See more here.
